i'm not asking for a top 5 or 10 or even listing in preferences...i'm just curious which ones move you the most...here's my list in no particular order:
cumbia & jazz fusion
let my children hear music
pre-bird
the black saint and the sinner lady
any album with eric dolphy or rahsaan roland kirk on it
tonight at noon
mingus ah um
pithecanthropus erectus
epitaph (for those who hate on this album b/c mingus isn't on it need to get over it...this is the best display of his brilliant composing)

Tue, September 13, 2005 - 1:28 PMIn terms of artistic merit, I think Let My Children Hear Music is his best, and I love it very much. But the one I've listened to the most and still go insane for is Mingus Dynasty. What a showcase!
BTW, new to Tribe, from NYC, and would be up for hitting jazz clubs with local people. Especially the Mingus Big Band. -
