  i used to watch those guys at time cafe in new york when I was in high school. They are totally killin always. Dont go if you are anywhere near giving up your instrument cause you dont think you are good enough!

    did anyone see them last nite?...the show was incredible...there were many hi-lites, but the one that stood out to me the most was kenny drew jr's fugal piano solo on 'the shoes of the fisherman's wife are some jive ass slippers'...the whole piece was great, but that solo was hauntingly beautiful...

      they just put out an album this past tuesday including the mingus orchestra and the mingus dynasty...i highly recommend it...
      
      also, i highly recommend their other six albums...i bought them after i saw them in april...i can't believe how much i've been sleeping on them...they're pretty true to the mingus form...
